Animation

Use motion to explain a change or draw attention to new content. Keep important content and controls usable without animation.

Add an animation preset

Import Animation from app-studio and pass a preset to animate:

Loading preview…

The React key remounts the animated content for this demonstration. Do not remount an entire form or screen merely to replay motion; that can reset user state.

Respect reduced motion

On web, add a reduced-motion rule for the region your app animates:

css
@media (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce) {
  .app-motion,
  .app-motion * {
    animation: none !important;
    transition: none !important;
  }
}

Do not make completion, navigation, or access to information depend on an animation finishing. Check your native app's reduced-motion behavior separately.

Native setup

Web presets use CSS keyframes. Native presets use the optional react-native-reanimated peer. Without it, animation props are ignored. Follow the peer's platform setup, including the configuration required by your installed version.

See native setup and the animation reference for supported presets and options.
